Honk-Honk-Ashoo’s alarm clock rings bright and early every morning. He does his exercises, reads the funnies, and eats breakfast. Then one morning Honk-Honk-Ashoo is awakened not by his alarm clock but by the sound of barking at his front door. It’s a little dog, and she’s in big trouble. At first Honk- Honk-Ashoo isn’t sure he wants a pet, but soon he decides to take her in. Now he and Swella-Bow-Wow exercise, read the funnies, eat breakfast, and do chores together, and Honk-Honk-Ashoo learns that a life shared is twice the fun.

Here’s the art for the new 12″ x 12″ Fun-boy pillow soon available on Etsy from our “Jumbee” shop.
The front of course depicts FB in his trademark tighty whities cowboy outfit and the back features a pattern of all the characters like D.J. Ray, Lickety-Split-Lynn and Sax from my pantomime picture book.
Originally I wanted to have a few pee stains on his undies but the family consensus was, “That’s gross!”  LOL!

My wife’s been busily sewing the printed fabric and experimenting with rope piping and fringes on the edges of the pillow to really take the cowboy/western theme to the hilt. I think folks will really like the high quality linen fabric we choose as well. More pics soon!

This is big…really big!

I’m talkin’ huge, camera-shaking stomping down the street big!

This is about five normal everyday twelve-year-old kids that transform into 100ft monsters that fight for good and defend the world from evil!  As big as buildings!  Fists that crush skyscrapers!  Tails that crash down shaking mountains to their core!  Body slams in the ocean that cause tidal waves!

Of course, it’s not all kicking big, giant, evil monster booty.  Being really big monsters, our heroes can use buses as Q-tips (with all the passengers grossed out by the monster ear wax); they can use light posts as toothpicks, buildings as backscratchers, burst water pipes/fire hydrants as drinking fountains, buildings as projection screens to watch movies.

Big enough for you?  But wait, it’s also small.

The big things are small and the small things are big … especially in that way kids see the world and their life and their problems.  Sometimes the littlest things are huge and the hugest things are no big deal.

Our gaggle of twelve-year-olds must balance fighting evil monsters while facing the storms of everyday life as kids.  Bullies at school.  Homework.  Tests.  Grades.  Friendships (always volatile and fragile at that age).  Parents (always volatile and fragile at any age).  Peer pressure.  And, quite frankly, learning how to do the right thing.

At the end of the day, the heart of Kaiju Kidz is about believing in yourself.  You’ve got to believe in yourself.  You can make a difference.

So, I guess what I’m trying say is: the heart is big. Really big.

Custom Mecha-Badboy for the MTV Underground Show at Toy Tokyo in NYC – Feb. 2006

That’s right! We can’t express how giddy we are after receiving the news that Target will be selling some Honk product in select stores! Hooray for our pillow-headed pal!

I’ve always itched to create some Fun-boy gags with him wearing a batman costume and trying to be a super-hero.
These were concepts as I envisioned of him as a vinyl figure wearing the costume. My thoughts were to use the same mold for various costumes and add different accessories. I also have him wearing a black terror and werewolf outfit. Awoooooooo!

One of my favorite Golden Age comic characters of all time…”The Black Terror.”
This is a prototype for a maquette I’d like to produce someday.
