The Star Wars Wicket and Chewie animation / e-card I had been working on late last year is finally up and posted on Hallmarks site. If I had a little more time I would have liked to have added a few more sound effects however, I think it turned out pretty good. Wicket and Chewie were a blast to work on and I was super excited that Lucas liked the designs and approved them along with the initial animatic I did below. The story, art, directing and key frame poses/animation were done by me based on my animatic, all in vector with a few raster files for texture. A big thanks to my pal Will Sanchez for doing the in between animation and really plusing it all up, Will’s a jedi animator!
Mariposa is the story of a cave boy named Motuku, who befriends a Sabertooth cub. But as he is taken on his first hunt and rite of passage, the realization of what his tribe must kill to survive, changes him forever. Like the butterfly that led him to his unlikely encounter, he transforms from a naive child, into a beautiful being suddenly forced to make tough choices in a stunning but brutal world.
Pierre is an artist that paints with his tale and Pal’ette is his faithful sidekick. “Pierre First Show” will help children become aware of and appreciate the world around them as well as inspire their own creativity! Parents and children will also recognize characters based on famous artists.
I really enjoyed working on this e-card…probably because I could never grow tired of listening to Israel Kamakawiwo’ole beautiful rendition of “Over the Rainbow.”
Hilarious E-card shorts written by Tracy L. from Hallmark for Easter.
I did the design and animation along with the …ahem…goofy dad voice. ; )
