1001 Arabian Nights 1959
This is a 1947 three-sheet (41" x81") poster for the 1959 American animated feature 1001 Arabian Nights. Produced by the pioneering animation studio UPA (United Productions of America) and distributed by Columbia Pictures, it was the first feature-length film to star the famously nearsighted character Mr. Magoo.
The film is a comedic retelling of the classic "Aladdin" folktale, with Mr. Magoo cast as Aladdin's uncle, Abdul Azziz Magoo. Due to his poor eyesight, Magoo inadvertently helps his nephew Aladdin defeat the Wicked Wazir, who seeks a magic lamp to gain absolute power.
