Aesop's Fables 1983 Japanese B1 Poster
This is a Japanese B1 Poster ( 28.7"x 40.6") for the 1983 anime film titled Aesop's Fables (original Japanese: まんがイソップ物語, Manga Aesop Monogatari). Produced by Toei Animation, the film was released in Japan on March 13, 1983, as part of the "Toei Manga Festival".
The story follows a mischievous young boy named Aesop (pictured center-left in the yellow vest) who loves playing pranks on his village. After lying once too often—notably about a wolf—he is transported into a magical world filled with talking animals and mythical creatures.
To find his way home, he embarks on a journey with three main companions:
- Pitchi (Silkwing): A flower fairy/spring elf (pictured center-right with butterfly wings).
- Chuchu (Skitter): A country mouse (pictured bottom-right).
- Barrow (Hawhee): A donkey (pictured mid-left).
Throughout his adventure, he encounters characters and situations from his famous fables, such as The Boy Who Cried Wolf, The Tortoise and the Hare, and The Grasshopper and the Ants, eventually learning valuable moral lessons.
