Retour à l'aube 1938 Japanese B3 Poster 2-Sided

This is a Japanese B3 Chirashi Poster (20.3" x 14.3" flat & 2-sided) for the 1938 French drama film Retour à l'aube (released in Japan as 暁に帰る, or Akatsuki ni Kaeru).
The film was directed by Henri Decoin and stars his then-wife, the legendary French actress Danielle Darrieux, during her rise to international stardom.

Set in a "chocolate box" version of Hungary, the story follows Anita, a young peasant woman married to a quiet village station master. Bored with her rural life, she travels to the big city (Budapest) to collect an inheritance and experiences a single, transformative night of high society and luxury before returning home at dawn.

It is noted for capturing Darrieux at the age of 21, showcasing her charm and vocal talent, particularly in a scene where she sings with gypsy musicians.

The flip side of the flyer is split into two distinct sections advertising two other films:

Right Side: Un carnet de bal (舞踏会の手帖) Director: Julien Duvivier. A French drama from 1937 (released in Japan in 1938). The text highlights its critical acclaim, noting it as the #1 Foreign Film in the 1938 Kinema Junpo "Best Ten" awards. The large portrait on the right shows the lead actress, Marie Bell.

Left Side: Bulldog Jack (地下の怪盗) Director: Walter Forde. Starring: Jack Hulbert and Fay Wray. A 1935 British thriller/comedy. In the United States, it was released under the title Alias Bulldog Drummond. The smaller inset on the bottom left features Fay Wray, best known for her role in King Kong (1933).
