Designed by the renowned German poster designer Eugen Maria Cordier(1903–1974), the artwork was commissioned to promote reading as an essential part of a relaxing holiday. Eugen Maria Cordier, is known for his work with the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn) and various travel advertisements.
