30,000 Miles Under the Sea 1970 Japanese STB Tatekan Poster

This is a Japanese STB Tatekan Poster (20" x 58") for the 1970 Japanese anime film 30,000 Miles Under the Sea (original Japanese title: Kaitei San-man Mile / 海底3万マイル).Produced by Toei Animation, the movie was released on July 19, 1970. While its name is a play on Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, it is an original fantasy adventure and not a direct adaptation of that classic novel.

The story follows a young boy named Isamu and Angel, the princess of an undersea kingdom, as they attempt to stop King Magma VII from conquering the world with a "fire dragon".

The film was directed by Takeshi Tamiya and based on an original story by legendary manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori (who created Cyborg 009 and Kamen Rider).
